Self Study and tutorial 1 Barrel and Shrine of Remembrance
This was my first experience using Blender thus I followed the tutorial by SirPinkBeard and created a Barrel.
This however was hard to do as the tutorial was made using Blender version 2.8, whereas the current version is Blender 4.3, this caused many issues where they didn’t line up. For Example, the smooth by angles in version 4.3 is now a modifier. I also encountered bugs when trying to do the UV mapping (creating the surface in which the texture is stored) which took several hours to fix. This was the end result:
For the portfolio item I decided to do a landmark from my hometown of Ulverstone before I moved to Hobart. The landmark I choose was the clocktower/war memorial the “Ulverstone Shrine of Remembrance”. I regrated choosing this after spending over 8 hours on modelling alone then another 3 hours on the Texturing. This meant I missed some things like the chains and things at the base. This was the end result:

Unity Scene
When importing the Barrel and Memorial into the unity scene I encountered a problem in which the memorial did not transfer correctly. This was later figured out to be a problem with a Blender function called modifiers. These modifiers don't transfer when exporting. With this resolved i added models from the 'Platform Kit Revamped - by J-Toastie' . Resulting in this scene:
